Taylor, Leibrandt and Brown Receive Baseball Weekly Honors
Player of the Week
Zach Taylor, Armstrong

Taylor had three hits in each of the Pirates' three games against No. 18 Southern Indiana, helping the Pirates to a series win over the Screamin' Eagles. He went 3-for-5 with three runs scored in game one of Friday's doubleheader, then ended up a double shy of the cycle with a 3-for-6 game in game two, driving in four runs with a two-run triple and a two-run home run. Taylor slugged .938 for the weekend and has seven multi-hit games in Armstrong's nine games so far this season. He is second in the PBC in batting average, slugging percentage, RBIs and third in home runs.
Pitcher of the Week
Brodie Leibrandt, Columbus State

Dueling against 2011 PBC Pitcher of the Year Don Sandifer, Liebrant pitched a complete-game shutout against #7 Francis Marion on Saturday in CSU's only win in the three-game series. The junior scattered seven hits but issued no walks and struck out six in getting the win. He set down the side in order in the third, fifth and sixth and only allowed more than one hit in an inning one time. He now leads the PBC with his second complete game and is tied for the league lead with three wins and tied for seventh in strikeouts.
Freshman of the Week
Danny Brown, Flagler
Fr. • RHP • Fort Myers, Fla.
Brown continued to impress in his first collegiate campaign, pitching five one-hit innings against Augusta State in the series finale as Flagler completed a sweep. The freshman did not get a decision in the game, but struck out five in his five innings, allowing only the one hit and walking a pair. Brown has now pitched 13 innings this season and given up seven hits and two earned runs. He is 12th in the PBC with a 1.28 ERA and 18th in strikeouts.
