DAHLONEGA, GA – The Saints softball team will be the first team in North Georgia school history to be broadcast on ESPN the family of networks this coming Saturday, February 25.
The No. 3-ranked North Georgia softball team will be broadcasted live on ESPN3.com when they play the No. 5-ranked West Texas A&M Lady Buffaloes. The game is scheduled to start at 10:00 AM EST in Kissimmee, Florida, as part of the 2012 ESPN-Disney Citrus Classic. ESPN3 will also air Southern Illinois vs. Florida State and Maryland vs. Wisconsin immediately following North Georgia’s nationally televised game.
The Saints have experienced countless success in recent years, making an appearance in three straight Division II College World Series’. North Georgia has been chosen to represent the NCAA Division II level along with West Texas A&M on a national scale.
After starting the season 9-1, the Saints will host Belmont Abbey on Wednesday in a doubleheader before heading to Florida Thursday morning.
They will play a total of five games while at the ESPN-Disney Wide World of Sports. The Saints will play both Saint Leo and West Texas A&M twice a piece and Kentucky State once.
