Collings, Coan and Mercer Named Softball Players of the Week
Player of the Week
Breezy Collings, Flagler

Collings was on fire last week, hitting .692 with three home runs and 10 RBIs with a 1.538 slugging percentage. The senior collected a hit and drove in a run in all four Flagler games, including a 3-for-4 outing against Eckerd where she had two doubles and a home run for five RBIs. She also went 3-for-4 against Webber International with a homer. Five of her nine hits went for extra bases and she had a .643 on-base percentage and scored four runs. Collings is currently third in the PBC in batting average, and second in both home runs and RBIs. She is also third in slugging.
Pitcher of the Week
Jessica Coan, North Georgia
Sr. • RHP • Duluth, Ga.
Coan was at it again last week, pitching 24.2 innings and allowing nine hits no earned runs while striking out 39. The senior tossed her first collegiate no-hitter against Mars Hill on Tuesday, striking out 10. She struck out 13 on three hits and one unearned run in a loss to Barry. For the week Coan went 2-1 and picked up a save with two no-hit innings against Ohio Dominican. She issued only five walks in her five appearances. The 2011 PBC Pitcher of the Year has been, if anything, better so far in 2012; leading the PBC with a 0.16 ERA and 67 strikeouts.
Freshman of the Week
Alexis Mercer, Armstrong

Mercer had an outstanding weekend for the Pirates at the Saint Leo Invitational, hitting .615 and slugging .923 as the No. 21-ranked Pirates went 3-1 during the tournament. She went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and four RBIs in the Pirates' 8-0 win over Lindenwood (Mo.), then went 3-for-5 with three runs scored in a 12-9 win over Pittsburg State. The freshman finished up the weekend with a 2-for-4 day with an RBI double in a 3-2 win over Saint Leo. Mercer is currently fourth in the conference with 13 RBIs and seventh in doubles.
