Chavarry set a new school record in the 100-meter hurdles at the Birmingham-Southern Invitational with a time of 14.38 seconds. The sophomore from Mobile, Ala., won the event by more than half a second and helped the Falcons to a third-place finish in the 17-team field. Chavarry’s time was .08 seconds off the NCAA provisional mark and is the fourth-fastest 100 hurdles run in the Peach Belt so far this season. She also competed in the shot put and javelin and was fourth in the long jump.
