Montevallo baseball team members participate in Light the Night Walk

The University of Montevallo baseball team participated in the Light the Night Walk for the second year in a row this fall benefitting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

The Falcons filled up balloons, took tickets and helped with clean up and break down at The Summit in Birmingham. MORE

UNCP Community, SAAC To Raise Money For Fallen Hero

PEMBROKE – Following the alarming death this summer of Jeremiah Goodson, a Lumberton police officer, the UNC Pembroke Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Braves community are collecting donations for Goodson family on October 13 at the home football, volleyball and soccer matches.

Saluting a Braves Hero is a campaign designed to honor the life of an impactful person and Goodson exemplified a hero due to his protection of his family and community in any situation. MORE

Falcons baseball become friends with Field of Angels

Members of the Montevallo baseball team partnered with players in the Field of Angels, a baseball league in Shelby County created to give special-needs children an opportunity to participate in the national pastime.

The Falcons participated in the league's closing ceremonies in late September as "buddies" of the special-needs children, helping them field the ball and round the bases during the final day of games this fall. MORE

 

Armstrong SAAC Participates In International Walk To School Day

North Georgia Women's Basketball Works to Help Animals in Need

North Georgia Continues to Lead NCAA Division II in Sponsorship of Make-A-Wish

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Last year, schools within NCAA Division II came together to raise close to half a million dollars, $468,569.35 to be exact, for the Make-A-Wish foundation led by their respective Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC). Part of that record-breaking total was raised during last year’s Week of Wishes, and this year, Division II is going to do it again. MORE

Armstrong Hosts Women's Walk for Athletics on Oct. 13

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Armstrong Atlantic State University athletic department will host its Inaugural Treasure Walk for Women's Athletics on Saturday, October 13th, on the Armstrong campus in order to help raise money for the B.J. Ford Athletic Scholarship.

The scholarship was established this year in honor of the head coach for the inaugural women's basketball and softball teams at Armstrong, B.J. Ford. It will be awarded to one student-athlete who competes on one of the six women's intercollegiate athletic teams - volleyball, soccer, basketball, tennis, golf or softball. MORE

UNC Pembroke Student-Athletes Serve As Volunteers For Youth Triathlon

With the volunteer effort of five athletic teams from UNC Pembroke, more than 110 young triathletes participated in the triathlon hosted by the Tri-Warriors on the campus of UNC Pembroke on Saturday morning. MORE

It Was Fandemonium!  USC Aiken Prepares for 12-13 Season

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken athletic department in conjunction with the USC Aiken office of student life held a special beginning of the year rally on Friday, Aug. 24 at the Convocation Center.

Entitled “Pacer Fandemonium,” the rally began at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 24. The special beginning of the year event featured all of the 2012-13 Pacer athletic teams in attendance. Each team was introduced to the crowd during the event. Joe Kucharski (Voice of the Pacers) emceed “Pacer Fandemonium.” MORE
