BOSTON, Mass. – Division I and Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) member Boston College has tabbed Georgia College Basketball alum Earl Grant (2000) to take the reigns as head coach of the Eagle Men's Basketball program.
A member of Georgia College's Elite-8 team in 1999-2000, Grant was on two Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championship teams in his two seasons, making back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances as well.
Grant earned a spot on the 1999-2000 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District Second Team, after making All-PBC First Team that season. A court general for the Bobcats, leading the team in assists in each of his two seasons; that has transferred nicely into his rising stardom in the collegiate coaching ranks.
Grant makes the move to Boston College having most recently served as head coach for Division I College of Charleston. At the helm of the Cougar men's program, he posted three-straight 20-win seasons, guiding Charleston to the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament title in 2018 and earning the Cougars their first trip to the NCAA Tournament in nearly 20 years.
Grant's coaching career actually began in Milledgeville. He re-joined his alma mater as an assistant coach for the 2001-02 season under long-time head coach Terry Sellers.
Grant first made the move to the Division I ranks at The Citadel as an assistant, and made assistant-coach stops at Winthrop University, Wichita State University and Clemson University. He took over as head coach at Charleston in 2014-15, amassing a 127-89 record over his seven seasons.
