Champion led the Nighthawks in scoring and rebounding in three games last week as UNG went 3-0. The sophomore from Lithonia, Ga., averaged 21.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while shooting 64% from the floor. He opened with 16 points and six rebounds in a conference win over Georgia College. He then scored 24 on 10-for-13 shooting with six boards against Tampa and had 23 points with 13 boards the next day in a win over Eckerd for his fifth double-double of the year. He added seven blocks against EC and averaged 2.7 blocks per game on the week to go with 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game. Champion is currently second in the PBC in scoring and third in rebounding. He is also second in field goal percentage, fourth in steals, fourth in assists and fifth in blocks.
