Peach Belt Announces Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Team

PBC Offensive Player of the Year Adam Mather

AUGUSTA, GA -- The Peach Belt Conference has announced the 2023 men's lacrosse All-Conference team. Lander's Adam Mather was named the Offensive Player of the Year while Montevallo's Alex Egorshin became the first PBC lacrosse player ever to win two major awards as the Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year. Montevallo's Jason Lange and Lander's Anthony LePore were named co-Coaches of the Year.

Mather earns his second straight PBC Player of the Year honor after sharing that with UM's Thomas Vaesen in 2022. A senior attacker from Cincinnati, Ohio, Mather scored 35 goals with 27 assists for 62 total points. He led the Peach Belt with 4.13 points per game, was second in assists per game and fifth in goals per game. Named the PBC Player of the Week on March 27, he scored in all but two of the 15 games he played in and provided points in each one. He scored multiple goals nine times, including a season-high six against Alabama-Huntsville.

Alex Egorshin quickly made an impact at Montevallo, starting 15 games in goal in his inaugural season. The keeper from Hoover, Ala., played more minutes between the pipes than any other PBC keeper, finishing fourth in the PBC with a 11.10 goals against average. He led the conference with 12.63 saves per game and a .579 saves percentage, which is eighth in NCAA Division II. A two-time PBC Player of the Week, Egorshin made 28 saves against Indianapolis, the most in the PBC this season and second-most in conference history.

Jason Lange earns his second PBC Coach of the Year honor in the three-year history of PBC men's lacrosse. In his eighth season at the helm in Montevallo, Lange led the Falcons to a 10-6 overall record, 3-2 in league play. Montevallo is ranked second in the PBC in points per game as a team. UM enters the PBC Tournament as the #3 seed, the spot from which they won the title last season.

In his fourth season of founding the men's lacrosse team at Lander, Anthony LePore led the Bearcats to their first PBC regular-season championship. Lander enters this weekend's PBC Tournament as the #1 seed after going unbeaten in conference play at 5-0. With an 11-4 overall record, Lander has received votes in the last five USILA national polls. Lander leads the PBC in goals, assists and shots per game. The Coach of the Year honor is the first for LePore.
