Softball Player of the Week: Jessica Owens, Georgia College & State University

Owens had an outstanding weekend as the Bobcats took two of three conference games at Augusta. The junior first baseman from Social Circle, Ga., opened the series by hitting for the cycle and driving in seven runs. She went 4-for-5 in the game with two runs scored and her seven RBIs is the most in a single game in the PBC this season. She closed the series by hitting a grand slam as the Bobcats went on to win 7-6. For the week, she had 11 RBIs on the two home runs, slugging 1.167 with a .417 batting average. She added four runs scored, a stolen base and made no errors in 19 chances at first. Owens is currently 10th in the PBC in batting average, seventh in slugging percentage, third in on-base percentage and third in walks drawn.

Softball Pitcher of the Week: Hannah Rose Corbin, Columbus State

Corbin tossed her second no-hitter of the season as she went 2-1 last week with a 0.43 ERA. The senior from Clanton, Ala., gave up her only earned run as she made a relief appearance against West Georgia, striking out four. She then got the start in the opener against Flagler, walking two and striking out seven while not allowing a hit over seven innings. She also started the third game, holding the Saints to four hits over five innings with seven more strikeouts. For the week, she pitched 15.1 innings with five hits and one earned run allowed, walking three and striking out 19. Corbin leads the PBC in strikeouts and is htird in innings pitched, sixth in opponent batting average and eighth in ERA.

Softball Freshman of the Week: Stephanie Condland, Georgia College & State University

Condland showed off the big bat this weekend for the Bobcats as she went 3-for-7 with two roundtrip shots against Augusta. The catcher and designated player from Hoschton, Ga., had two runs scored and five RBI in her two games played. She had an impressive 2-for-3 performance with three RBI and her first career homerun, which doubled has her first career hit. In the Sunday contest, she pushed to the Bobcats to a 6-0 lead with a two-run homer which helped to propel them to the 7-6 win. For the weekend, she hit .429 with a 1.286 slugging percentage, two home runs and five RBIs.
