Women's Soccer
Player of the Week - Sarah Hungerford, Columbus State (Jr., F, Richmond Hill, Ga.)
- Scored five goals in wins over Lander and USC Beaufort as the #2 Cougars finished the PBC regular-season with a perfect 9-0 record
- Scored both goals in CSU's 2-1 win at Lander, taking four total shots with both of her targets on goal finding the net including the game-winner in the 81st minute...added a hat trick against USCB in just 40 minutes of game time
- Leads the team and is ranked fourth in the PBC with 10 goals on the season...tied for the league lead in game-winning goals and is sixth in points per game
Defender of the Week - Chloe Markey, Georgia College & State University (Sr., D, Alpharetta, Ga.)
- Led the Bobcat defense to a 1-0 win over Georgia Southwestern, a win with a huge impact as it lifted GCSU into fourth place in the league standings, which, depending on how things work out, could lead to the #4 seed and a home game in the first round of the PBC Tournament
- Markey and the GCSU defense held GSW to just three shots in the game, including one shot in the second half with a 1-0 lead
- The shutout was GCSU's fifth of the season and second in their last four games as they closed the season with a four-game winning streak, never allowing more than one goal at any time
Goalkeeper of the Week - Sierra Fowler, North Georgia (Sr., GK, Johns Creek, Ga.)
- Made a season-high six saves as UNG defeated #9 Lenoir-Rhyne 1-0, handing LR their first regular-season loss since 2022...it is also UNG's first win against a top-10 team since 2020
- Made five saves in the first half as the Bears peppered the goal with 11 total shots, six on target...she also thwarted several LR scoring chances as she recorded her second shutout in the last three games
- Is currently ranked second in the PBC in goals against average...also second in saves percentage
Men's Soccer
Player of the Week - Aram Lara, North Georgia (So., MF, Gainesville, Ga.)
- Scored the game-winning goal in the 88th minute to lift the Nighthawks past Lander 2-1, that win gives the Nighthawks the #2 seed for the upcoming PBC tournament for just the second time in program history and a bye into the semifinals
- The goal was the only score of the second half and came after a redirected corner kick, which Lara put home after one touch without an assist
- The goal was Lara's first of the season on his second shot on goal this year after playing the second-most amount of minutes on the UNG team
Defender of the Week - Jackson Kirila, Flagler (So., D, Concord, N.C.)
- Played all 90 minutes and led the Saints defense to a 2-0 shutout win over USC Aiken in the regular-season finale
- The win lifted Flagler into a tie for second in the PBC standings and the #3 seed for the PBC Tournament which comes with a quarterfinal home game next Saturday
- Flagler is second in the PBC in team goals allowed average, holding USC Aiken to just four shots on goal in the game for their seventh shutout of the year, tied for the most in the league
Goalkeeper of the Week - Mauricio Uribe, Clayton State (Sr., GK, Miami, Fla.)
- Played all 180 minutes as the Lakers posted wins over Georgia Southwestern and Lander, allowing only one goal and making nine total saves
- Made five saves against GSW with one goal allowed in a 4-1 win...made four more saves and notched his fifth shutout of the season 2-0 over Lander
- Leads the PBC with a 0.77 goals against average...also second in the league in saves and third in shutouts per game
Volleyball
Player of the Week - Molly Boyd, Flagler (Sr., MB, Chicago, Ill.)
- Had a spectacular week hitting .532 as she had 29 kills and only four errors on 47 swings to help lead Flagler to a 3-0 record...added 2.50 blocks per set
- Hit .875 with 14 kills and no errors in 16 attacks in a sweep of Missouri S&T...had 11 kills with five blocks against Lewis and five more blocks against Edward Waters
- Leads the PBC and is ranked 24th in NCAA Division II in hitting percentage...also fourth in the league in kills per set and blocks per set
Specialist of the Week - Rylie Harris, Augusta (Sr., L, Mechanicsville, Va.)
- Averaged 5.33 digs per set as Augusta defeated Lander 3-2 and USC Aiken 3-1 last week
- Had 26 digs with five assists and two aces in the win over Lander...added 22 digs, four assists and two more aces against the Pacers
- The matches were her first two 20+ dig performances of the season...currently ranked ninth in the PBC in digs per set
