Player of the Week - Nate Lehr, Flagler
Lehr recorded a season-high 17 saves as the Saints defeated conference-leading Montevallo 14-13 in overtime in the regular-season finale on Saturday. The senior keeper from Chenango Bridge, N.Y., helped hold the Falcons to their lowest scoring total of any conference game despite facing 46 shots in total, 30 of those on goal. Lehr is currently ranked fourth in the PBC in saves per game.
Baseball
Player of the Week - Josh Sharp, USC Aiken
Sharp went 10-for-16 at the plate with nine RBI. The outfielder from Lawrenceville, Ga., garnered a home run and a double and also scored five times. Against Coker, he went four-for-four with a home run, two RBI and crossed home plate three times. After going two-for-five in the series opener against USC Beaufort, Sharp registered a three-for-four effort at the plate in the second game of the series. In addition to his three hits, Sharp drove in a career-high six runs. In the regular-season finale victory over the Sand Sharks, he accounted for a hit, one RBI and scored a run. For the week he hit .571 with a .762 slugging percentage, a double and a home run. Sharp is currently sixth in the PBC in batting.
Pitcher of the Week - John Luke Glanton, Georgia College & State University
Glanton pitched his second complete game of the season as he went the distance in a win over North Georgia. The sophomore righty from Metter, Ga., scattered eighth hits and allowed one earned run over nine innings with one walk and six strikeouts. Throwing 115 total pitches, he retired the side in order in the fourth, fifth and seventh, allowing the lone run to score in the bottom of the ninth with his team up six runs. Glanton leads the PBC in wins and innings pitched, is second in ERA and sixth in opponent batting average.
Freshman of the Week - Jesse Sullivan, Flagler
Sullivan played in three of the four Flagler games last week, hitting .455 with five RBIs. The catcher from Jupiter, Fla., drove in a run in the midweek tilt against Palm Beach Atlantic, then hit .500 (5-for-10) in two wins over Augusta. He went 3-for-6 in the first with four RBIs, including the walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth as Flagler won 13-12. He went 2-for-4 on Saturday in a 5-3 Saints win. Sullivan is hitting .374 this season and is second on the team with 36 RBIs.
