AUGUSTA, GA -- The Peach Belt Conference has released the 2025 men's tennis season preview consisting of the preseason coaches' poll and All-Conference team.

Flagler sits atop the preseason coaches poll for the second straight season after reaching the NCAA National Championship match last year. The Saints won their first-ever PBC Tournament title in 2024 after going undefeated in conference play to win the regular-season championship. Flagler begins the 2025 spring season ranked #2 in the nation.

Columbus State is second in the coaches poll and are #5 in the ITA preseason national poll. The Cougars reached the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament last year after going 17-8 overall, 4-1 in conference play.

Lander was voted third in the coaches poll with North Georgia, Augusta and Georgia College & State University following.

The coaches poll is below, followed by the preseason All-Conference Team. Coaches were not permitted to rank their own team or vote for their own players.

Preseason All-Conference Team

Camilo Cano, Columbus State

• A junior from Armenia, Colombia
• A second-team All-Conference selection in doubles in 2024 where he was 13-6 overall, 12-6 with partner Justin Welz playing primarily at #2 doubles
• Went 14-9 in singles play, with matches at the top four spots...was 8-1 at #3 singles and 2-1 at #2 singles...finished the season with a five-match winning streak including against #8 Indianapolis in the NCAA national quarterfinals

Thomas Cardona, Columbus State

• A senior from Medellin, Colombia
• A 2024 PBC first-team All-Conference selection in singles after going 13-5 in dual match play including a 5-1 mark at #1 singles
• Was also 12-8 in doubles play with a 7-3 mark at #2 doubles...defeated second singles players from #30 UT Permian Basin and #8 Indianapolis in the NCAA Tournament

Enzo Garutti, Augusta

• A junior from Sao Jose do Rio Preto, Brazil
• The 2023 PBC Freshman of the Year, he was named a first-team All-Conference selection in singles in 2024
• Was 11-9 in singles play last year, playing every match at #1 including wins over CSU' Cano and GCSU's Jorge Robinson

Daniel Hammond, Columbus State

• A junior from Whangarei, New Zealand
• Currently ranked #19 in singles by the ITA...a PBC second-team All-Conference selection in singles in 2024...reached the ITA Cup semifinals in doubles this past fall
• Was 14-5 in singles play last season with a 7-3 mark in doubles...was 2-1 against nationally-ranked opponents

Simon Malis, Flagler

• A sophomore from Ostrava, Czech Republic
• The 2024 PBC Freshman of the Year, he was also a first-team All-Conference selection in singles and doubles last season...currently ranked #28 in singles and #24 in doubles by the ITA
• Went 22-8 as a freshman last season across all competitions and 26-5 in doubles...was 16-2 at #1 doubles with partner Philipp Lemken...defeated three nationally-ranked opponents

Baptiste Mercier, Flagler

• A senior from Nimes, France
• The 2024 PBC co-Player of the Year, he was also a first-team All-Conference selection in singles and doubles...named an ITA All-American
• Went 34-10 in singles and 24-9 in doubles last season with a pair of singles wins over nationally-ranked opponents
