Peach Belt Announces Women's Basketball Tournament Bracket

AUGUSTA, GA -- With the 2024-25 regular season complete, the Peach Belt Conference has announced the bracket for the women's basketball tournament. Play begins on Wednesday, March 5, with four quarterfinal games hosted on campus by the higher seed. The four winners from Wednesday will advance to the semifinals and finals March 8-9, hosted by the highest remaining seed.

North Georgia is the #1 seed for the third time in the last five years. Ranked #8 in the nation, the Nighthawks finished the regular season with a 16-2 mark, 26-2 overall, and carry an eight-game winning streak into the postseason. UNG will open the tournament against eight-seeded Clayton State on Wednesday.

Columbus State is the #2 seed in the tournament, their highest seeding since 2017. The Cougars finished their regular season on Sunday 20-7 overall, 14-4 in league play and bring a 3-game winning streak into tournament play.

Augusta is the #3 seed with a 20-8 overall record, 12-6 in conference play. Picking up a top-3 seed for the second year in a row, the Jaguars have back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 1993. Winners of five of their last six heading into the postseason, Augusta hosts sixth-seeded Lander on Wednesday.

Georgia College & State University is the #4 seed for the PBC Tournament and will host fifth-seeded Flagler in the quarterfinals. The Bobcats finished the regular-season tied with Flagler at 9-9. The two teams split their meetings, but GCSU takes the seed thanks to a win over #1 UNG.

Lander and Georgia Southwestern finished in a tie for sixth place. The two teams split their head-to-head meetings and neither had a win over top-seeded UNG. Lander won the tiebreak thanks to their win over Columbus State on Jan. 26 and take the sixth seed with Georgia Southwestern in seventh.
