Peach Belt Announces Men's Basketball All-Conference Team

AUGUSTA, GA -- The Peach Belt Conference has released the 2024-25 men's basketball All-Conference team and postseason awards. Columbus State's Jarrett Adderton was named the PBC Player of the Year with his head coach Robert Moore the Herbert Greene Coach of the Year. USC Aiken's Simeon German was named the Defensive Player of the Year and Flagler's Josiah Shackelford the Freshman of the Year. USC Beaufort's Dylan Lewis was named the winner of the PBC Elite 18 Award, presented by Barnes & Noble College.

Adderton becomes the first Cougar to be named the PBC Player of the Year since Yandel Brown in 2004-05. The senior guard from Decatur, Ga., is second in the PBC in scoring with 20.1 ppg. He is also ranked 10th in the league in rebounding and fourth in steals. Named the PBC Player of the Week four times this year. He scored 20 or more points 15 times with two games of 30 or more and two double-doubles.

German leads the PBC in blocks and is third in rebounding. The senior from Lagos, Nigeria, is a key part of USCA's defense which leads the conference in rebound margin and is third in scoring defense. He started in 23 games with 25 appearances, hitting double-digit rebounds seven times and four or more blocks three times. German becomes the second Pacer to be named the Defensive Player of the Year, the first since Alvin Brown won his second in 2014.

Shackelford played in all 27 games for Flagler, making three starts. The guard from Sanford, Fla., led the team and ranked 10th in the PBC in scoring with 16.1 ppg. He is also fourth in the league in made three-pointers per game. He scored 20 more points nine times with a career-high 27 against USC Beaufort, the most by any Flagler player in a single game. Shackelford becomes the first Saint to be named the Freshman of the Year since Vaughn McCall in 2016.

Moore guided the Cougars to their first PBC regular-season championship since sharing a division crown in 2017 and the #1 seed in this week's PBC Tournament. Columbus State is currently ranked #6 in the nation by the NABC and #1 in the latest NCAA Southeast Region poll. CSU enters the postseason with a 25-3 overall record, their least amount of losses since 2003. Moore claims his second PBC Coach of the Year honor, his first coming in 2016.
