Saints Shut Out USCA, Advance to Third Straight PBC Championship

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The top-seeded Flagler College men's soccer team (12-1-4 overall, 11-0-1 PBC) extended its winning streak to 10 consecutive matches Wednesday night with a 2-0 victory over fourth-seeded USCA (6-9-1 overall, 4-7-1 PBC) in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament semifinals. With the win, the Saints secured a spot in their third consecutive PBC Tournament Championship.

SCORING SUMMARY
35' – Flagler – Luke Williams (Assist: Will Cain)
83' – Flagler – Tim Wahlborg (Assist: Callum Stokes)

TURNING POINT
After a quiet opening stretch as both teams settled into the match, Flagler broke through in the 35th minute on its fourth corner kick of the night. Will Cain delivered the set piece to the back post, where Luke Williams rose above the defense and headed the ball into the net to give the Saints a 1-0 advantage.

The match took a significant turn in the 53rd minute when USCA goalkeeper Sean Simoncelli was issued a straight red card, leaving the Pacers with 10 players for the remainder of the contest. Despite holding a man advantage for much of the second half, Flagler remained patient before finding the insurance goal in the 83rd minute.

From near the midfield circle, junior Callum Stokes played a pass into the attacking third for Tim Wahlborg. The First Team All-PBC selection turned on the speed, beat the Pacers' backline, and slid the ball past the goalkeeper to secure the 2-0 victory.
