GAINESVILLE, GA. – Embry-Riddle captured their third consecutive PBC Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship on Monday at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center in Gainesville, Ga. The Eagles finished with 248 points, outdistancing second-place Augusta with 108 and third-place USC Beaufort with 88.
Today’s meet was highlighted by PBC Championship meet records and All-Time PBC records. Embry-Riddles Distance Medley Relay team set a PBC Championship Meet record with a time of 10:09.90. Among Embry-Riddle’s notable performances were Jacob Swavely, who set a PBC Championship meet record in the weight throw with a 15.49-meter toss. Ryan Antalek led the way in the high jump with a PBC Championship meet record of 1.99 meters. Nick Scarangelli led the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:10.56, an All-Time PBC record. Derick Brown took home gold in the 60-meter hurdles, setting a new All-Time PBC record in the prelims with a time of 7.94. Antonio Caito set an All-Timr PBC Record in the triple jump with a jump of 15.64m. Luke Richardson took home gold in both the 60 meters (6.68s) and the 200 meters (21.04s), both times setting new All-Time PBC records. Eli Enney took know the 400 meters with a time of 47.36s, another All-Time PBC record.
The records didn’t stop there, however.
Augusta’s Seth Eye took home gold in the 800 meters with a time of 1:50.13, a PBC Championship meet record.
Augusta’s Avery Jaynes set a PBC Championship meet record in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:31.77. Augusta’s 4x400 meter relay team finished in 3:16.56, an All-time PBC Record.
Flagler’s Will Stonesecured an All-Time PBC record with a mile time of 4:04.11.
USC Beaufort’s Samuel Mitchell set an PBC Championship meet record in the long jump with a 7.18-meter jump.
USC Beaufort’s Channing Robinson joined ERAU’s Antalek at 1.99 meters in the high jump, a PBC Championship meet record.
The NCAA National Championship selections will be announced prior to 6:00pm on Tuesday, March 3
rd.
