Columbus State is the top seed in the PBC Tournament for the first time since 2017, where they received the #1 seed in the West Division. Ranked #11 in the nation by the WBCA and #3 in the most recent NCAA Southeast Region poll, the Cougars claimed the PBC Regular Season title earlier this month and wrap up the regular season with a 24-3 overall record and a 18-2 record in PBC play. Columbus State enters the post season on a 12-game winning streak having lost just one game in 2026. The Cougars will host eight seeded Lander on Wednesday with tipoff set for 5:30pm.
USC Beaufort is the #2 seed in the tournament as they make their first PBC Tournament appearance in program history. The Sand Sharks closed out the regular season with an 19-10 overall record and a 15-5 record in PBC action. USCB were ranked #10 in the latest NCAA Southeast Region poll. The Sand Sharks will host seventh seeded GCSU on Wednesday with tipoff set for 5:30pm.
North Georgia and Augusta finished tied for third with a 13-7 record in PBC play. The first step in the tiebreak process is head-to-head results. Augusta won the first matchup on 1/21. North Georgia won the second matchup on 2/25. Since both teams remain tied, the next step is to compare each team’s results vs the highest seed not involved in the tie and continue until the tie is broken. North Georgia went 1-1 vs #1 Columbus State, while Augusta went 0-2 vs #1 Columbus State. North Georgia would have the upper hand in the tie break and receive the #3 seed in the PBC tournament with Augusta receiving the #4 seed.
The #3 seed Nighthawks closed out the regular season with an 18-12 overall record and a 13-7 record in PBC play. The defending tournament champions were ranked #8 in the most recent NCAA Southeast Region poll. North Georgia will host sixth seeded Clayton State on Wednesday with tipoff set for 5:30pm.
