Flagler, North Georgia Share Lead in PBC Women's Golf Tournament After Opening Round

North Georgia and Flagler share the lead in the PBC Women’s Golf Championship following the first round at the King & Bear Golf Course. Both teams shot an opening-round 301 and sit 13 over par, seven up on third place Lander. 
 
North Georgia’s Mackenzie Connell leads the individual leaderboard, shooting a one-over 73 in the opening round. Three players sit tied for second place, just one shot behind the Connell. North Georgia’s Ellie Jane Riner and Flagler’s Addison King and Sofia Terzoli all sit in second with a two-over 74 strokes in the opening round. 
 
The tournament will continue with 18 holes on Saturday and a final 18 on Sunday.
 
North Georgia led Par 3 scoring at a 3.25 average in the opening round. Flagler led Par 4 and Par 5 scoring, averaging 4.22 on Par 4s and 4.95 on Par 5s.  North Georgia led with 10 birdies today, while Flagler led with 58 pars. 
 
Flagler’s Addison King was the lone player to score an eagle on the course as she knocked the ball home in three strokes on hole 16, a 508-yard par 5. North Georgia’s Claire Bradford led the way with four birdies on the day.
 
USC Beaufort, Edward Waters and Savannah State are set to tee off beginning at 7:40am tomorrow.
 North Georgia, Flagler, Lander and Columbus State are set to tee off beginning at 8:30am.
