With the conference tournament set to begin tomorrow, the Peach Belt Conference has revealed the 2026 softball All-Conference teams. Post season awards are nominated and voted for by the league’s coaches. Coaches are not permitted to vote for their own players. North Georgia dominated major awards with Sydnee Reaves named Player of the Year, Chloe Poss named Pitcher of the Year, Brooke O’Hair named Coach of the Year and Journey Roberts receiving the Elite 18 award. USCA’s Abbie Kegley has been named Freshman of the Year.
PBC Player of the Year
Sydnee Reaves, North Georgia
Senior, Outfield
- The senior from Ashland, Alabama was unanimously voted as Player of the Year by opposing coaches for her performances in the 2026 season
- Reaves led the PBC this season in slugging percentage (.890), OPS (1.408), runs scored (58), hits (78), RBIs (67), doubles (22), home runs (17) and at bats (172)
- She is second in the PBC this season in batting average (.453), on base percentage (.518) and fifth in stolen bases (22)
- Reaves is third in the nation this season in total bases, tied for fourth in doubles, tied seventh in RBIs, eight in slugging percentage, tenth in RBIs per game and tied tenth in home runs
- Reaves is the fourth Nighthawk to be named Player of the Year for softball, and the first since 2019
PBC Pitcher of the Year
Chloe Poss, North Georgia
Senior, Pitcher
- The senior from Thomson, Georgia was unanimously voted as Pitcher of the Year by opposing coaches for her performances in the 2026 season
- Poss leads the PBC this season in ERA (1.85), batters struck out looking (53), saves (2) and wins (22) and second in batters struck out (138), third in opposing batting average (.207) and innings pitched (166.2)
- Poss is the eighth Nighthawk pitcher to be named Pitcher of the Year, as UNG pitchers have won the award eleven times prior
PBC Freshman of the Year
Abbie Kegley, USCA
Freshman, Pitcher/ Infield
- The freshman from Quinton, Virginia went 15-11 on the season, pitching 175.1 innings
- Six of Kegley’s victories came in PBC action
- Kegley leads the PBC this season in innings pitched (175.1), batters struck out (147), fewest sac flies allowed (1), fewest triples allowed (1) and is second in ERA (1.85), opposing batting average (.182), fourth in batters struck out looking (34) and fifth in wins (15)
- Kegley is the fourth Pacer to be named Freshman of the Year, and the first since 2011
PBC Coach of the Year
Brooke O’Hair, North Georgia
2nd Season
- O’Hair claims the PBC Coach of the Year award in her second season leading the Nighthawks
- O’Hair led the Nighthawks to a 42-8 overall record in the regular season and a 22-5 record in conference play
- Helped North Georgia to their twelfth-consecutive PBC Regular Season title
- O’Hair is just the second North Georgia coach to claim PBC Coach of the Year honors, joining her predecessor, Mike Davenport, who won the award ten times
PBC Elite 18 Award
Journey Roberts, North Georgia
Junior, Utility
- The PBC Elite 18 Award is presented at each of the PBC's 18 championships to the student-athlete competing with the highest cumulative GPA
- Roberts started all 50 games for the Nighthawks this season
- Has a .223 batting average, .347 slugging percentage and .317 on base percentage on the season
- On 121 at bats, Roberts has 37 runs, 27 hits, five doubles, two triples and two home runs for 27 RBIs with a .904 fielding percentage
- Roberts is just the second Nighthawk to receive the Elite 18 Award for softball, joining Laken Chambers who won the award in 2021
