GILBERT, ARIZ -- Three Peach Belt Conference women's tennis players have been named All-Americans by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Flagler's Elena Ondobo, Columbus State's Nikoline Gullacksen and North Georgia's Anastasiia Opolska all earned All-American singles honors.
The criteria for ITA All-American singles honors are finishing in the top 20 of the final ITA National Singles Rankings. All-American recognition is awarded to doubles teams who finish in the top 10 of the final ITA National Doubles Rankings.
Nikoline Gullacksen, also earned ITA Southeast Senior Player of the Year honors, finished the season ranked as the 12th-ranked women's singles player, and led the Lady Cougars to a No. 8 overall ranking. The Helsingor, Denmark native tallied a 16-3 overall in singles play with six wins over nationally-ranked opponents in the No. 1 position. In doubles play, Gullacksen was 14-7 overall, having played with Annie Adams, Monika Temkova, and Claudia De Lucas. Gullacksen was the PBC Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference and led CSU to a Southeast Region Title and a spot in the NCAA Division II Quarterfinals.
Elena Ondobo finished as the highest winning Saint this season, posting a 20-4 record in dual matches, with four matches going unfinished. Through the season, Ondobo played at court two entirely and finished with a 12 match win streak. Her final three matches went unfinished. Ondobo finished ranked as the 13th ranked women's singles player in Divison II. Ondobo was named PBC First Team All-Conference in singles and Secound Team All-Conference in doubles, while also earning PBC Tournament Singles MVP honors.
Anastasiia Opolska finished the season as the 16th ranked women's singles player. Opolska finished the season with a 14-8 record at the No. 1 singles position. In doubles play, Opolska ended with a 17-5 record at No. 1 doubles, ending the season with an eight-game winning streak alongside teammate Olesya Stokusova. Opolska earned PBC First Team All-Conference honors in both singles and doubles.
