Laura Hallissey enters her third year with the Peach Belt Conference and her first year as Director of Strategic Communications. Hallissey joined the conference staff in 2023 as the Coordinator of Creative Content & Digital Media. She has overseen rapid growth of the PBC social media networks which has surpassed 10k followers on Twitter and seen growth on Instagram and TikTok, increasing the total following by over 25%. She has also established a visual identity for the conference in branding and design and been the forefront of video incorporation into all publicity efforts.
Hallissey came to the Peach Belt from Saint Leo University, where she completed her MBA in Sports Business. While at Saint Leo, she was a graduate assistant with residence life, while also serving as the social media manager and volunteer assistant coach for the women's soccer team. She also gained experience in game day operations for lacrosse, basketball and baseball covering everything from live stats entry to video production. In addition to her coaching work at Saint Leo, Hallissey served as a volunteer assistant for Florida Premier FC Wesley Chapel.
A native of Waterford, Ireland, she played collegiate soccer at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa, where she was named the ICCAC Player of the Year as well as gaining All-American recognition. After receiving her associates degree, she transferred to Saint Leo where she finished her collegiate playing career. Throughout her collegiate career, Hallissey earned Dean's List, Presidents' Club & Commissioner’s Honor Roll appearances a total of fifteen times.
Hallissey received her undergraduate degree in Sport Business with a minor in Risk Management from Saint Leo in 2021.
