Women’s Track Athlete of the Week: Na’ilah Allen, Clayton State
Allen won both the 800 and 1500 at the GATA Classic at Georgia Southern over the weekend. The senior from McDonough, Ga., took the top spot in the 800 with a time of 2:19.78, winning by six seconds. She then set a personal best in the 1500 with a time of 4:53.03, third-fastest in the PBC this season, winning the event by two seconds. She also ran the third leg on the 4x400 relay team that finished fifth with a 4:03.1, second-best in the PBC so far this season.
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week: Ny’Asia Green, Clayton State
Green competed in the long jump and triple jump at the GATA Classic at Georgia Southern. The sophomore from Martinez, Ga., finished in fourth in the long jump with a distance of 5.11 on her fourth and final attempt. She finished in second in the triple jump with a 10.97, just .03 off her PBC-best mark set two weeks ago.
