Columbus State's Hay, Clayton State's Riles Named Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week: Alli Hay, Columbus State

Hay set a new school record in the 5,000m run, winning the event at the Montevallo Falcon Classic. The senior from Elmodel, Ga., ran a 17:46.46, fastest in school history and second-fastest in the PBC this season. Hay, an All-Conference performer in the 5k and 10k, picks up her second 5k event win in as many meets.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week: Shania Riles, Clayton State

Riles threw the shot put for the Lakers at the Clark Atlanta Panther Invitational, helping the team to to a fifth-place finish in the eight-team field. The sophomore from Columbus, Ga., hit a mark of 10.20 meters on her third attempt, good for seventh place among the 17 competitors in the event. That is the ninth-farthest toss in the PBC this season.
