AUGUSTA, GA -- The Peach Belt Conference has released updated Commissioner's Cup standings through the winter sports season and Augusta is on top as the league heads into spring. The PBC Commissioner's Cup is the annual award given to the best overall athletic department based on regular-season final standings and championship results from cross country, golf and track & field. Teams are rated according to the amount of points collected divided by the amount available to them.
Augusta captured the PBC men's cross country and men's basketball championships; were second in volleyball and third in women's cross country. The Jaguars earned 37.5 of a possible 45 points for an .833 rating, best in the league through the winter calendar. Flagler is in second with an .803 rating followed by Columbus State and North Georgia.
The PBC Commissioner's Cup will be presented at the annual awards dinner at the league's annual meeting in Hilton Head, S.C., on May 31.
