Shing led the Bobcats to a season-opening 6-1 win over Emmanuel. The sophomore from Auckland, New Zealand, played at #1 singles where she swept Soleny Gonzalez 6-0, 6-0. She also partnered with Shradha Chhabra at #3 doubles to blank Emmanuel's Gonzalez and Lauren Castillon 6-0. Shing is currently ranked #9 in the southeast region by the ITA.
