Lander, Flagler Complete Play at NCAA Women's Golf Regional

GAINESVILLE, GA -- Lander fired their lowest round of the tournament to jump a place and finish in seventh place while Flagler finished 11th at the NCAA women's golf South/Southeast Regional. Lynn won the event with Anderson in second, Nova Southeastern third, Tampa fourth and Limestone fifth. Those five teams will advance to the NCAA finals later this month.

The event was played at the 5,922-yard, par-72 Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Ga., and hosted by the University of North Georgia. Players had to finish the second round on Wednesday morning after weather suspended play on Tuesday.

North Georgia's Madeline Ananthasane finished in a tie for 12th, just two strokes away from being one of the top two individuals not on an advancing team who will also get to play in the national finals.

Lander was led by Hannah Stephenson, who fired the low round of the day and tied for the low round of the tournament with a two-under-par 70. Stephenson jumped 24 places on the individual leaderboard to finished tied for 14th. She had seven birdies on the round and shaved 12 strokes off of her second-round score.

Sakurako Tanaka finished tied for 29th with a final-round 77. Caroline Hardee was tied for 35th at 233 with Kajsa Lindqvist tied for 43rd and Ella Nilsson in 54th.

Flagler was led by Sophie Wheeler who finished in a tie for 29th at 230. Jordyn Hodgson was tied for 41st with Stella Jelinek tied for 48th, Anna Sphamn tied for 55th and Marietta Ruhl tied for 60th.

Tampa's Ana Maria Jimenez Rios won the event at one-over 217.
