All 'of the year' awards are presented by College Ave. Lander's Ellyn Adams was named the recipient of the PBC Elite 18 Award which is presented by Barnes & Noble College.
Miller becomes the first Lander player to ever be named the PBC Player of the Year. A junior outside hitter from Sugar City, Idaho, she leads the Peach Belt and is ranked ninth in NCAA Division II with 4.33 kills per set. Also ranked fifth in hitting percentage, second in aces and sixth in digs, she was named the PBC Player of the Week five times this season. She becomes the sixth player in PBC history to win both the Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year honors in her career; her 1,366 career kills is also sixth on the PBC's all-time list (modern scoring era).
Lauren Dow wins her second straight PBC Setter of the Year award. Also the 2023 PBC Freshman of the Year, the sophomore from Pickens, S.C., is second in the league in assists per set at 8.84 and ninth in digs per set. Under her direction, Lander leads the PBC in team hitting percentage and she has twice been named the PBC Specialist of the Week.
Alanis Bernis leads the PBC in total digs and is second in digs per set. A junior from Auburn, Ga., she is also fifth in the PBC in service aces per set. She had six matches in 2024 with 20 or more digs including a season-high 28 against Emmanuel. Bernis becomes the first Bobcat to be named a Libero/Defensive Specialist of the Year.
Sadie McKay leads the Peach Belt with 4.13 digs per set. A senior from Bellville, Texas, she was named the PBC Specialist of the Week on Oct. 14 after putting up back-to-back 20-dig performances. She had 20 or more digs seven times during the season with a season-high 26 against Francis Marion. McKay becomes the fifth Pacer to be named a Specialist of the Year; USC Aiken has been the home to the winner eight times.
Karson Browning started in 20 of Lander's 24 matches in her first year and played in 70 of 87 sets. A middle blocker from Boiling Springs, N.C., she is second on the team and fifth in the PBC with 0.93 blocks per set. She was also fifth on the team in kills. She twice had nine blocks, tied for fourth-most in single match in the PBC. Browning becomes the third straight Bearcat to be named the PBC Freshman of the Year and seventh overall.
Tabor Scanlon played in all 19 matches and 71 sets for USC Aiken in her first collegiate season. A freshman setter from Lansing, Kan., she leads the team and is ranked fourth in the PBC with 5.35 assists per set. She is also third on the team in total digs and second in aces. Scanlon becomes the third Pacer to be named the Freshman of the Year, the first since Ashley Diedrich in 2012.
In his fourth season at the helm of the Bearcats, Jeff Reynolds has lifted the program to new heights as they captured the PBC regular-season championship for the first time in school history in 2024. Lander is also the top seed in the PBC Tournament for the first time and will be looking for their first tournament title this weekend on their home floor after reaching the final match a year ago. Under Reynolds' direction, Lander went 7-1 in league play this year and enter the postseason with a 20-4 overall record. The PBC Coach of the Year honor is his second in three years.
