Converse Wins PBC League of Legends Championship

AIKEN, SC -- The Converse University Valkyries won the 2024 League of Legends championship on Saturday night, defeating Florida Southern 3-0. The title is the second in the last three seasons for Converse, who entered the tournament as the #1 seed.  Florida Southern won the crown in 2023.

Converse's Devin Yates was named the tournament Most Valuable Player.

Converse completed a dominant weekend, not dropping a single game as they defeated West Georgia 2-0 and North Georgia 2-0.  On Saturday, FSC led in the third game before CU rallied to win.

With the win, Converse returns to the College League of Legends playoffs with the PBC's automatic bid.  CU advanced to the national final four in 2022.

The League of Legends championship was held live an in-person along with the PBC Overwatch championships.  Both events were held at the Etherredge Center on the campus of USC Aiken.
