WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – The No. 2 (Scorecard Division II ranking by clippd) Flagler College women's golf team rolls on as they carded a 7-under par 281 today to finish the 54-hole portion of the NCAA Division II National Championship with a 13-under 851 (288-282-281) at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge's Panther Lake course (par 72; 6,003 yards). The Saints finished in first place and will enter the medal match play round tomorrow. They will face the No. 8 seed St. Mary's University of Texas in a quarterfinal match at 8 a.m.
Five Flagler and St. Mary's golfers will play 18 holes and the low score wins. Each team match will consist of five points, with one point being awarded for each individual match, or in the case of a tied match, two half-points. Winning teams will advance to the semifinals and subsequently, the finals. Each individual match will be played to its completion and the first team to win three points within the team match will advance. If the team match is tied after all five individual matches, the total strokes of the five players from each team will be calculated with the winning team having the fewest strokes. If it's still tied, the matches that are tied will play a sudden-victory hole until the tie is broken.
