North Georgia remain in the lead in the David R. Brunk Commissioner's Cup Standings following Winter Season

AUGUSTA, GA - Following very a successful fall season and continued success through the winter season, the North Georgia Nighthawks lead the David R. Brunk Commissioner's Cup standings with a .870 rating. Augusta remains in second place at .759 as Columbus State moves into third with a .750 rating. Flagler dropped into fourth place with a .720 rating. 
 
North Georgia competed in five sports so far this year, with top three finishes in each. The Nighthawks women’s soccer team secured the PBC Regular Season title, going undefeated in PBC regular season action. The men’s soccer team followed suit also securing the PBC Regular Season title, their first in program history. The Nighthawks women’s cross country team finished in third place at the PBC Championship. North Georgia men's basketball ended the season in third place, while their women's basketball ended the season tied for third with Augusta. 
 
Augusta has competed in seven sports this year so far, with their men’s and women’s cross country teams finishing in second place at the PBC Championship. The Jaguars volleyball team was named PBC Regular Season Co-Champions as they tied for the top spot with Flagler. Augusta's men's indoor track & field team finished second at the PBC Championships while their women finished in third. The Jaguars women's basketball finished tied for third, while their men's basketball ended the season in ninth place.

Columbus State has competed in five sports so far this year. Most recently, their women's basketball team secured the PBC Regular Season title and their men's basketball team came in second. In the fall, the Cougars women's soccer team came in third while their men's cross country finished fifth and their women's cross country finished seventh at the PBC Championship. 
 
The Saints secured three top place finishes so far this season. Flagler competed in nine sports, with their men’s and women’s cross country teams securing first place at the PBC Championship, and their volleyball team securing a share of the PBC Regular Season title. The Saints men’s soccer team ended the regular season in third, with their women’s soccer team ending tied for fourth. Flagler's women's indoor track & field team finished second at the PBC Championship, while their men finished fourth. The Saints men's basketball tied with GCSU for fifth spot, while their women's basketball ended the season in a three way tie for ninth place. 
 
The David R. Brunk Commissioner's Cup is presented annually to the best overall athletic department based on regular-season final standings (with exceptions for golf, track and cross country which are based on PBC Championship results). The award is presented in late May during the PBC annual meetings.
 
Teams are ranked according to how many points they earn divided by how many are available to them, depending on which sports they sponsor. The number of available points in each sport is based on the number of teams participating in that sport. Associate members are not included in the calculations.
