Two PBC Women's Basketball Teams Have Punched Their Tickets To The NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, IND -- Augusta and Columbus State were both selected to play in the NCAA Tournament, released by the NCAA on Sunday night. Both teams will travel to Harrogate, Tennessee to open up play in the NCAA Southeast Region on Friday, March 13th hosted by Lincoln Memorial. 


PBC Regular Season Champions Columbus State received the #4 seed in the region and will open up play vs #5 Carson-Newman on Friday. The Cougars stormed their way to the Regular Season title with an 18-2 record in PBC action. They enter the NCAA Tournament with a 25-4 overall record having fallen in the semifinals of the PBC Tournament to eventual Champions Augusta. The Cougars will meet the Eagles for the first time this season as CN enter post-season play with a 21-10 overall record.

PBC Tournament Champions Augusta received the #7 seed in the region. The Jaguars made history Sunday afternoon, claiming their first PBC Tournament title in 33 years and securing the PBC's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. Augusta enter the NCAA Tournament with a 21-9 overall record as they are set to face #2 Lenoir Rhyne in the opening round. The Jaguars will meet the Bears for the first time this season as LR enter the tournament with a 24-5 overall record.
