Nine Peach Belt Conference student athletes competed in day two of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday. Augusta's Kamani Pardo, Embry-Riddle's Alex Baltazar-Hall, Mikaela Miles, Luke Richardson, Allegra Triner, Taylor Roth, Emily McBride and Derick Brown and Flagler's Kaleb Hollins each competed on the national stage in Emporia, Kansas.
The day was highlighted by Mikaela Miles' runner up finish in the triple jump. Miles, the 2026 Indoor National Champion, opened the competition strong with a 12.83 jump which landed her in first place. Miles' jumped the same distance in her second round, holding the top spot. Eventual National Champion Summer Stevenson of Cal State Los Angeles jumped a 12.93 in round three, overtaking Miles. Miles jumped a 12.87 in round three but couldn't catch the leader. Her farthest jump came in the final round, where she jumped 12.92, just short of the leader. The 12.92 is a season best for the senior who adds a National Runner-Up trophy to her case as she improved on her third-place finish at last year's outdoor national championship.
In other events, Flagler's Kaleb Hollins finished third in his heat in the 800 meter preliminary round with a time of 1:49.36, which left him tenth overall just narrowly missing a qualifying spot. Hollins' finish secured second team All-American honors.
Embry-Riddle's Luke Richardson competed in the 200 meter preliminary round on Friday afternoon where he placed fifth in his heat and 11th overall with a 21.04 finish. Richardson's finish secured second team All-American honors for the freshman who returns to the track for the 100 meter finals on Saturday.
Embry-Riddle's Alex Baltazar-Hall competed in the Discus where she closed the day in 13th with a throw of 47.01. Baltazar-Hall also earned second team All-American honors.
Embry-Riddle's Taylor Roth, Emily McBride and Allegra Triner all competed in the 800 meter preliminary round. Roth finished 6th in her heat and 15th overall with a time of 2:08.85. McBride finished 4th in her heat and 16th overall with a time of 2:09.16, with Triner finishing 7th in her heat and 20th overall with a time of 2:15.29. Roth and McBride both earned second team All-American honors for their finishes.
Augusta's Kamani Pardo competed in the high jump finals. He jumped a 2.05m on his third try, which was good for 16th overall finish, earning him second team All-American honors.
Embry-Riddle's Derick Brown competed in the 110 meter hurdles on Friday evening. Brown finished with a time of 15.52, which placed him 6th in his heat and 18th overall.
Four PBC athletes will compete at the championships on Saturday.
