SAVANNAH, Ga. — Savannah State University has announced the hiring of Kelly Allen as the new head golf coach for both the Tiger men's and women's programs.
Allen arrives at Savannah State after spending the previous two seasons at Edward Waters University, where he successfully restarted the women's golf program and laid the foundation for future growth and competitiveness.
"I am incredibly honored and grateful for the opportunity to lead the golf program at Savannah State University," said Allen. "Savannah State has a proud tradition, and I look forward to building a championship culture that emphasizes academic success, competitive excellence and personal development. I can't wait to get to work with our student-athletes, alumni and supporters as we continue to elevate Tiger golf."
A Jacksonville, Florida native, Allen is a graduate of Benedict College, where he was a three-year letterwinner for the Tigers, twice earning All-SIAC honors and helping Benedict capture the 2015 SIAC Men's Golf Championship.

"Kelly brings a passion for developing student-athletes, a proven understanding of the game, and valuable experience building a collegiate golf program from the ground up. In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Allen has dedicated years to growing the game through his work with First Tee of North Florida, where he has coached and mentored more than 100,000 young people across Northeast Florida. His commitment to youth development and community engagement has made a lasting impact on aspiring golfers of all skill levels.
Allen is also the founder and owner of "Golf By Kelly, LLC", a golf lifestyle brand focused on bringing creativity, individuality and modern style to the game.
As head coach, Allen will oversee all aspects of Savannah State's golf program, including recruiting, player development, academic success, practice planning and competition preparation while continuing to build a championship-caliber culture within the program.
