Christina Whetsel is in her fifth year as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Senior Woman Administrator for Augusta University Athletics. Whetsel joined the Jaguars in May 2018.

Whetsel transitioned from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas where she spent 12 years with the Rams. In 2006 she was hired as the director of compliance and student athlete services, before her title changed to director of athlete compliance in 2001 to better reflect her expanded responsibilities. She  served on the Division II Academic Requirements Committee for the NCAA from 2016-2020, where she was chair from 2019-2020. She also served on the DII Legislation Committe from 2010 to 2013. Whetsel currently serves in various committees for Augusta University and the Peach Belt Conference and is a member of NAAC and Women's Leaders in College Sports. 

An Angelo State graduate, Whetsel was an all-conference performer for the Rambelle soccer team during the early years of the program from 1995-99. She then served as a graduate assistant coach. Whetsel still ranks among ASU’s career leaders in several statistical categories and still holds the single-game and single-season assists records for the Rambelles.

Formerly Christina Heck, Christina is a native of Austin, Texas and moved to Augusta with her husband, Daniel and their daughter Norah.
