Converse Wins PBC Valorant Tournament Championship

FLORENCE, SC – The Converse University Valkyries rallied from an 0-2 deficit to defeat Columbus State 3-2 in the first Peach Belt Conference Valorant Tournament Championship on Saturday night in Florence, S.C. Brice ‘Icee’ Schultz was named the tournament Most Valuable Player

Converse, who entered the tournament as the #1 seed after an undefeated regular season, quickly found themselves down to the second-seeded Cougars after CSU took the opening map at Fracture 13-5 and then the second map, Ice Box, 13-8.

The Valkyries began their rally with a 13-5 win at Haven in the third map. The fourth map may have been the tipping point of the match as the two team were tied a 8-8 on Breeze. Converse then won three rounds in a row on the way to a 13-9 win. They then finished their championship run on Ascent 13-8.

The final closes out the first season of Valorant, published by Riot Games, in the Peach Belt Conference. The event was held at the Florence Center in Florence, S.C.
