FLORENCE, SC - Kennesaw State University rallied from a 2-1 deficit to beat Converse University in an epic final of the Peach Belt Conference Valorant Champions Division on Friday in Florence. KSU won the event 3-2, taking the fifth and deciding game 13-11.
Converse won the first game with realtive ease only to have KSU storm back in the second. The two traded the next two sets with Converse taking the third and KSU the fourth. KSU led 11-4 in the fifth set before the Valkyries ran off six straight points to close the gap to 11-10. KSU won the 12th point with Converse answering with their 11th, but KSU closed out the match to take the title.
The championship is the first in the Champions DIvision in the Peach Belt, which offered a second tier of competiton for Valorant starting this fall. The first two rounds of the Champions Division Tournament were completed last weekend online.
Saturday, the top-tier Masters Division will conclude with two semifinals and the finals starting at 11:00 am.
