Lander men's soccer will face Tampa in the first round of the NCAA Tournament

GREENWOOD - The Lander men's soccer team now knows who and where they'll be playing in the 2022 NCAA Div. II Men's soccer tournament. The Bearcats were seeded ninth in the Super Region II bracket and will face the eighth-seeded University of Tampa on the campus of Florida Institute of Technology on Thursday, November 10.   Lander was the only team in the PBC to advance to the NCAA Tournament after winning the league's automatic bid.

Lander and Tampa have met once before this season with the Spartans winning at Van Taylor Stadium 4-2 on September 10. After a 1-1 first half, Tampa would outscore the Bearcats 3-1 in the second half.

The Bearcats are currently 11-3-5 and most recently defeated Flagler 1-0 in the PBC Championship Finals to secure the sixth PBC Tournament title in program history.

Tampa is currently 7-6-3 overall and most recently fell to No. 1 seeded Florida Tech in the Sunshine State Conference Semifinals.
