Women’s Tennis Player of the Week: Luisa Hrda, Flagler

Hrda went 4-0 in singles and 3-1 in doubles in a very busy week for the Saints that led to a share of the PBC regular-season championship. The junior from Aschaffenburg, Germany, began with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 win over #9 Neila Trklja of Columbus State, capturing one of Flagler’s two points in the 5-2 loss. She also beat Lander’s Chiara Gerbino, #74 Vaishali Jorge of UNG and YHC’s Joselyne Chapui, all at #1 singles. She was 3-1 in doubles with Eden Schlagenhauf, their only loss coming to CSU #20 team of Abrile and Ramirez. Hrda is the highest-ranked singles player by the ITA at #5 in the nation and is 14-3 in singles play with a 4-2 record against nationally-ranked opponents.
