PBC Releases Lacrosse Tournament Bracket

AUGUSTA, GA – The Peach Belt Conference has released the bracket for the 2022 men's lacrosse tournament following the conclusion of the regular season on Saturday. All six PBC teams advance to tournament play with the 1 and 2 seeds getting a bye to the semifinal round. The 3-6 and 4-5 quarterfinals will be held on Tuesday, May 3, at the site of the higher seed. Those two winners will join the 1 and 2 seeds in Huntsville, Alabama, for the semifinals and finals May 6 and 8.

The University of Alabama-Huntsville won the PBC regular-season championship and will be the #1 seed with their 11-9 win over Lander on Saturday in a meeting of two conference unbeaten teams. The Chargers will be the host site for the semifinals and finals next weekend and are the top seed for the first time. UAH will play the winner of the Flagler-Young Harris match in the semifinals.

Lander suffered their first conference loss of the season to UAH on Saturday and will be the #2 seed. The Bearcats will also receive a bye in the quarterfinals and advance to next Friday's semifinal against either Shorter or Montevallo.

Montevallo captured the #3 seed with their win over Flagler on Saturday and moved above .500 in conference play and overall. The Falcons are the defending tournament champions, having won the very first PBC lacrosse tournament in 2021. Montevallo will host sixth-seeded Shorter on Tuesday.

Flagler, in their first season of lacrosse competition, is the #4 seed and will host a PBC Tournament match on Tuesday. The Saints finished with a 2-3 mark in conference play and will host fifth-seeded Young Harris, who will also be making their PBC tournament debut.
