Baseball Player of the Week: Isaac Bouton, Columbus State

Bouton hit .500 with a 1.300 slugging percentage as the Cougars went 3-0. The junior shortstop from Marietta, Ga., had four extra base hits of his five total hits including two doubles and two home runs. He went 2-for-3 with a pair of solo home runs against Albany State. He then went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI in the opener against Spring Hill, adding another hit in the second game. For the week he scored three runs, drew three walks for a .615 on-base percentage, did not strike out and had no errors in nine chances at short with two double plays turned. Bouton is currently tied for fourth in the PBC in home runs, tied for sixth in slugging and 10th in batting average and on-base percentage.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Noah Windhorst, Columbus State

Windhorst threw eight shutout innings with only three hits allowed in a win over Spring Hill on Sunday. The junior righty from Zebulon, Ga., moved to 2-0 on the season with the win, walking only one and striking out four as he held batters to a .125 average. He retired the first 13 batters he faced in order before allowing a single in the fifth that was quickly eaten up by a double play. No SHC runner made it past second base and he finished his day by retiring the side in order in the eighth. Windhorst is one of four pitchers to lead the PBC with two wins on the year, he is also second in the league in innings pitched, fifth in ERA and seventh in opponent batting average.

Baseball Freshman of the Week: Hunter Miller, USC Beaufort

Miller found his stride in two wins last week for the Sand Sharks, hitting .625 with a 1.375 slugging percentage. The outfielder from Fort Pierce, Fla., hit his first two career home runs in the same game as he went yard twice against Middle Georgia State, driving in three. He drove in another as he went 3-for-4 against Francis Marion, scoring a pair of runs. He scored four runs on the week to go with his four RBIs and two walks for a .700 on-base percentage. Miller is currently tied for sixth in the PBC in RBIs.
