GSW's Koehler Named NCBWA Second Team All-American

AUGUSTA,GA. – Georgia Southwestern State University senior pitcher Evan Koehler was named a National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Second Team All-American, as announced by the organization this afternoon. 

Koehler adds All-American to a growing list of accolades for his senior year. The Peach Belt Conference Pitcher of the Year and first-team all conference selection was recently named first team all region by both the NCBWA and Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). 

On the season, Koehler led the Peach Belt Conference in strikeouts (119) while ranking second in ERA (3.09), innings pitched (96.0), batters struck out looking (34) and opposing batting average (.215) and tying for third in fewest runs allowed (38).

On the national stage, Koehler leads NCAA Division II in strikeouts, and ranks fifth nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.26).

Koehler is the second Georgia Southwestern player to be named NCBWA All-American, joining Jared Donalson who received the honor in 2022 which is the last time a PBC player was named to a NCBWA All-America team.
