Eight PBC Baseball Players named ABCA All-Region, Koehler named Pitcher of the Year

AUGUSTA, GA -- Eight Peach Belt Conference baseball players have earned All-Region honors as the ABCA released their teams. Selections were voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and coordinated by the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.

All eight players have previously been named to either the D2CCA or NCBWA all-region teams. Georgia Southwestern's Evan Koehler is the lone PBC player to be named first-team on all three teams, as he also receives ABCA/Rawlings Southeast Region Pitcher of the Year honors.

Koehler adds Southeast Region Pitcher of the Year to a growing list of accolades for his senior year. The Peach Belt Conference Pitcher of the Year and first-team all conference selection was recently named first team all region by both the NCBWA and Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA), and named second team All-American by the NCBWA.

On the season, Koehler led the Peach Belt Conference in strikeouts (119) while ranking second in ERA (3.09), innings pitched (96.0), batters struck out looking (34) and opposing batting average (.215) and tying for third in fewest runs allowed (38). On the national stage, Koehler leads NCAA Division II in strikeouts, and ranks fifth nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.26).

North Georgia's Kyle Robitzch, USCA's Salvatore Laimo, Flagler's George Gilson and CJ Hanson earn their third all-region honors of the season as they are named second-team by the ABCA. North Georgia's Ben Hamacher, GCSU's Evan Cowan and Georgia Southwestern's Evan Wainman each earn their second all-region honor as they also earned second-team recognition by the ABCA.

The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-America teams will be announced on Friday, May 29. Only First Team All-Region selections are eligible for All-America honors.

ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams for all divisions will be announced on Wednesday, June 17, while the 2026 ABCA NCAA Div. II Region All-Defensive teams will be released on Thursday, June 18.

The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now spans nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first introduced in 2007.
