MILLEDGEVILLE, GA -- Lander's WyKira Johnson-Kelly and Columbus State's Letiya Reeves were named All-Region by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association on Thursday. Johnson-Kelly was named a first-team All-Region selection and will be eligible for All-America consideration. Reeves was named to the second team.
The 2023-24 PBC Player of the Year, Johnson-Kelly led the Peach Belt in scoring with 17.5 ppg. A graduate student from Franklinville, N.J., she was twice named the PBC Player of the Week during the season. She had nine games of 20 or more points including a high of 29 against Columbus State. Her scoring average in conference games jumped to 19.9 points per game. Ranked sixth in the PBC in field goal percentage, she was also sixth in free throw percentage, fifth in assists and seventh in steals.
Reeves was named to the PBC All-Tournament team after leading the Cougars to the final game just last week. A sophomore from Newnan, Ga., she was a first-team All-Conference selection and two-time PBC Player of the Week. Reeves was ranked second in the PBC in scoring with 17.0 ppg and had a conference-high 39 points against USC Beaufort on Jan. 31, one of her two 30+ point games on the season. She is also ranked ninth in the league in field goal percentage and led the PBC in steals.
The D2CCA All-Region team is selected by media communication professionals in the three Division II region conferences. The All-America team will be released in advance of the NCAA Elite Eight.
