Cougars Blank Erskine in Opening Round of the Southeast Regional

The women's tennis team advances after defeating Erskine 4-0 in their opening match of the NCAA Southeast Regional.

DAHLONEGA, Ga. - The fourth-seeded Columbus State University women's tennis team displayed dominance in the 2024 NCAA Southeast Regional opening round, defeating fifth-seeded Erskine College 4-0. Columbus State improves to 15-7 overall with the win.

RECAP
In doubles play, the number one duo of Nikoline Gullacksen and Mariana Ramirez defeated the team from Erskine College 6-2. 

The Cougar team of Isadora Oliveira and Agostina Bigotti also secured a win on court three for Columbus State, 6-3. After clinching the doubles point, Columbus State entered singles play up 1-0. 

Moving on to singles play, Ramirez emerged victorious on court one against E. Bentz from Erskine College with scores of 6-4, 6-2. 

Laura Pesickova also secured a win for Columbus State at number three singles by defeating S. Pavlova with scores of 6-3, 6-2.

Oliveira won her match on court four by defeating L. Valtere from Erskine College 6-2, 6-3.

UP NEXT 
The Cougars advance to the second round of the NCAA Southeast Regional, where they will face the number one-seeded North Georgia Nighthawks. Match play will start at 11 a.m in Dahlonega.
