ST. AUGUSTINE, FL- Lander's Katie Miller entered the PBC Tournament needing just 10 kills to match the PBC All-Time Career Kills record, and 11 kills to break the record. It didn't take long before the senior from Sugar City, Idaho rewrote the history books as she racked up seven kills in the first set, followed by four more in the second set.
Miller surpassed a 21-year old record of 1,906 career kills held by Jackie Struck of UNF since 2004. Miller finished with 18 kills, pushing her new career total to 1,914, a number poised to grow as the Bearcats continue their postseason run. Miller's night also included 19 digs, two aces, and 20.5 points overall.
"Katie's achievement is remarkable, not just for our program but for the Peach Belt Conference," Lander Athletic Director
Brian Reese said. "To break a record that has stood for more than two decades speaks to her consistency, talent, and competitive drive. We're incredibly proud of her and grateful for the impact she's had on the Lander volleyball program."
Katie Miller has continued to make her mark in the Peach Belt Conference. Miller has been named to the PBC All Conference First Team each of her four seasons. The senior outside hitter was named PBC Freshman of the Year in 2022, followed by two PBC Player of the Year recognitions in 2024 and 2025.
