The PBC Announce 2025 Women's Soccer All-Conference Teams

Following the conclusion of an electrifying regular season, the Peach Belt Conference has announced the 2025 Women’s Soccer All-Conference team. Post season awards are nominated and voted for by the league’s coaches. Coaches are not permitted to vote for their own players. Columbus State’s Sarah Hungerford has been named Offensive Player of the Year, while North Georgia’s Alex Clark is tabbed Defensive Player of the Year. GCSU’s Kaisa Fagerstrom receives Freshman of the Year honors and North Georgia’s Kayley Ralton claims Coach of the Year. All 'of the year' awards are presented by College Ave.  
 
PBC Offensive Player of the Year, Presented by College Ave
Sarah Hungerford, Columbus State
Senior, Midfielder
  • Led the PBC with 12 goals in the 2025 season
  • Tied for the lead with 7 assists, totaling a league high 31 points
  • Scored a hattrick on two occasions, while also adding a pair of braces 
  • Hungerford is the first Columbus State player since 2020 to win the Offensive Player of the Year, and the sixth different Cougar to claim the award. 
 
PBC Defensive Player of the Year, Presented by College Ave
Alex Clark, North Georgia
Senior, Defender
  • Played and started in 17 games for the Nighthawks
  • A part of the North Georgia defense that held opponents to just 13 goals this season, averaging .765 goals against average which is good for second in the PBC
  • North Georgia tied for the lead in the PBC in shutouts with 9 and shutouts per game with .529
  • Clark added two goals and six assists this season for 10 total points 
 
PBC Freshman of the Year, Presented by College Ave
Kaisa Fagerström, GCSU
Freshman, Defender
  • Played and started in sixteen games for the Bobcats as a freshman
  • A part of the GCSU defense that held opponents to just 15 goals this season, averaging .888 goals against average
  • GCSU had 7 shutouts this season, which is good for a tied third best in the conference
  • Fagerström is the first Bobcat to be named PBC Freshman of the Year and just the second Bobcat to receive a PBC ‘of the Year’ award
 
PBC Coach of the Year, Presented by College Ave
Kayley Ralton, North Georgia
6th Season
  • This is Ralton’s second PBC Coach of the Year award, having recently won the title in 2023
  • Led the Nighthawks to a 15-1-1 overall record, and a perfect 10-0 record in the PBC
  • This is the first time in program history that the Nighthawks have finished with a perfect record in PBC play, and just the 11th team in PBC history to do so. 
  • The Nighthawks have been ranked in all 10 national polls, and have been featured in the top ten consistently since September 16th
 
Select Sport Gold Ball Award
Sarah Hungerford, Columbus State
Senior, Midfielder
  • The Select Sport Gold Ball Award is awarded to the highest goal scorer in conference games in the 2025 season
  • Hungerford has scored all 12 of her goals in conference play, averaging 1.2 goals per game
  • She added three assists in conference play for a total of 27 points in ten games played
 
Elite 18 Award
Abigail Akerson, Columbus State
Senior, Midfielder
  • The PBC Elite 18 Award is presented at each of the PBC's 18 championships to the student-athlete competing with the highest cumulative GPA. Akerson entered the 2025 season with a 4.0 GPA
  • Played and started in nine games for the Cougars this season, scoring three goals, and assisting one
  • Akerson is a repeat winner, having also won the Elite 18 in 2024
