Women's Tennis

Player of the Week - Angelina Linnikova, North Georgia (Sr., Irkutsk, Russia)

  • Went 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles at the ITA Indoor National Championships in Indianapolis to remain unbeaten in singles play this season
  • Defeated #5 Dana Heimen of Flagler 2-6, 7-5, 6-3 and also picked up a doubles point with Linn Goerdes over Flagler's #21 team of Heimen and Nikolova 6-3...her match against #6 Jessica Biznari of Midwestern State went unfinished tied at one set apiecetottot...beat Embry-Riddle's Aik Maissane 6-2, 7-5
  • Is now 7-0 in singles play all at #1...6-1 in doubles...ranked #4 in singles by the ITA

Men's Tennis

Player of the Week - Harry Pugh, Lander (Fr., Greymouth, New Zealand)

  • Improved to 5-0 in singles and doubles with wins over Coker and Young Harris last week...has not dropped a set so far this season
  • Defeated Coker's Tom Lamers 6-1, 6-3 and YHC's Noah Pawirodirjo 6-4, 6-4, both at the #1 spot...is now 3-0 at #1 singles
  • Partnered with Brendan Jayaprakash to beat Cokers' Lamers/Van Asdonck 6-3 at #1 doubles and YHC's Williams/Vercruyssen 6-2 at #2 doubles

Men's Lacrosse

Offensive Player of the Week - Trace McDonald, Flagler (Jr., Attack, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.)

  • Guided the Saints offense to wins over #16 Florida Southern and #20 Westminster last week...scored three total goals with six assists for nine points
  • Scored a goal and added four assists in a 9-8 win on the road at Florida Southern...had two goals and two assists against Westminster...the two wins were the first wins against ranked teams in program history
  • Currently ranked second in the PBC in assists per game and fourth in goals per game...added a ground ball and caused four total turnovers

Defensive Player - Ty Sheckenbach, Flagler (Fr., D, Centennial, Ga.)

  • A key part of a Flagler defense that picked up two wins over nationally-ranked teams, keeping both to 10 goals or less
  • Had five ground balls and caused four turnovers against #16 Florida Southern in a 9-8 win...had three ground balls and five caused turnovers against #20 Westminster...held Westminster to their lowest goal output of the season
  • Leads the PBC in caused turnovers per game and is sixth in ground balls per game...Flagler leads the PBC with 9.37 goals allowed average per game

Men's Golf

Golfer of the Week - Karl Frisk, USC Aiken (Jr., Spring Grove, Pa.)

  • Led the Pacers to a second-place finish at the Wexford Intercollegiate, firing rounds of 72-71-72 for a one-under 215
  • Tied for fifth individually in a field where USCA was the only DII program with 17 from Division I
  • Recorded his first top-five finish of the season...has played nine of his 15 rounds at or under par

Women's Golf

Golfer of the Week - Stella Jelinek, Flagler (Jr., Leimen, Germany)

  • Won the World Golf Invitational for her second win of the season and is now tied atop the PBC's all-time career wins list with seven
  • Fired rounds of 72-74-69 to finish at one-under 215, two strokes clear of the field which featured 10 teams ranked in the top 25
  • Was the lone player to break par in the tournament...currently ranked #7 in the nation by Scoreboard

Men's Basketball

Player of the Week - Jarrett Adderton, Columbus State (Sr., G, Decatur, Ga.)

  • Led the 10th-ranked Cougars to a 2-0 week with 21.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game as CSU captured a share of the PBC regular-season championship
  • Shot 54% from the field in wins over Flagler and Lander, hitting 13 of 14 free throws and adding3.0 assists and 1.0 blocks per game...had a double-double with 22 points and 10 boards against Flagler...had 21 with seven rebounds and five assists against Lander
  • Currently ranked fourth in the PBC in scoring and 10th in rebounding...also ninth in the league in field goal percentage, third in free throw percentage and fourth in steals

Women's Basketball

Player of the Week - Caroline Martin, North Georgia (Grad., G, Cumming, Ga.)

  • Averaged 21.3 points and 5.7 rebounds in three wins last week as the #9 Nighthawks secured a share of the PBC regular-season championship
  • Scored 23 with seven boards against Georgia Southwestern and had 25 with six boards against Augusta...hit 25 of 29 free throws on the week...added 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game...shot 50% (9-18) from three-point range
  • Currently ranked third in the PBC in scoring, eight in rebounding, second in field goal percentage, eighth in free throw percentage, eighth in assists and seventh in steals

Baseball

Player of the Week - Capers Molinaroli, USC Aiken (Sr., 3b, Summerville, S.C.)

  • Hit .421 with a 1.000 slugging percentage, three home runs and nine RBIs as the Pacers went 4-1 on the week
  • Collected hits in four of the five games with homers in three straight games against Limestone and IUP...had three RBIs against Limestone and three more in the second game against IUP...added two doubles for 19 total bases on the week..scored six runs
  • Tied for the league lead with five home runs on the season and is second in the PBC in RBIs...also tied for fourth in doubles and runs scored and is third in slugging percentage

Pitcher of the Week - Jake Larson, Lander (So., RHP, Ponte Vedra, Fla.)

  • Pitched 11.2 innings against Belmont Abbey and Chowan with no earned runs allowed, one hit, one walk and nine strikeouts...went 2-0 on the week with a 0.00 ERA
  • Carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning against Belmont Abbey, pitching 7.2 innings with one hit and one unearned run allowed as Lander beat the Crusaders for the first time at home since 2014...pitched four innings of relief against Chowan in the final game of the series with no hits or walks allowed
  • Leads the Peach Belt in opponent batting average at .107....also ranked fourth in the conference in ERA

Freshman of the Week - Nicholas Stinson, North Georgia (Fr., DH, Kennesaw, Ga.)

  • Started all three games against Georgia College & State University in a non-conference series, hitting .462 with four runs scored, two home runs and six RBIs
  • Collected two hits in all three games, going 2-for-5 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs in the series opener...also drove in runs in games two and three
  • Currently hitting .440 in seven games with an .800 slugging percentage

Softball

Player - Holly Lynn, Columbus State (Jr., C, LaGrange, Ga.)

  • Hit .636 with a 2.000 slugging percentage as the Cougars went 4-0 on the week...had five home runs and nine RBIs against Shorter and Carson-Newman
  • Homered in all four games with two in the second game against Shorter...collected multiple hits in two of the four games and had multiple RBIs three times...scored five runs and did not strike out in 11 at-bats
  • Currently tied for second in the PBC with a .500 batting average and leads the conference with a 1.318 slugging percentage...currently tied for second in home runs and is fifth in on-base percentage

Pitcher - Graceanne Spears, Georgia Southwestern (Sr., P, Opp, Ala.)

  • Threw the second no-hitter of her GSW career with a five-inning shutout of Miles...allowed four walks and struck out 12 of the 15 batters she faced
  • Had at least two strikeouts in every inning and struck out six of the final seven batters she faced
  • Currently ranked second in the PBC in opponent batting average, fourth in strikeouts and is second in the league with only 16 hits allowed in 34.2 innings of work

Freshman - Kaylynn Scaffe, Augusta (Fr., SS, Social Circle, Ga.)

  • Hit .368 in six games last week with five doubles and seven RBIs...had a .632 slugging percentage with three runs scored
  • Went 2-for-3 in the opener against Tusculum with a double...was 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs in a win over Lenoir-Rhyne...also had two RBIs in the second game against Tusculum
  • Has now hit safely in six of her last seven games, hitting .391 over that stretch...the five doubles are the first of her collegiate career and she is now tied for sixth in the PBC in doubles
