Gould Finishes Seventh at NCAA DII Track & Field Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- Embry-Riddle's Brooklynn Gould capped her stellar indoor season with a seventh-place finish at the NCAA DII Indoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday in Indianapolis. Gould scored 3,807 points in the pentathlon, setting an ERAU program record and achieving either a season-best or career-best mark in every event to earn the second All-America honor of her career.

She becomes the first PBC indoor track & field All-American.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • 60m Hurdles: Gould opened her competition with a season-best time of 9.19, setting the tone for a great day.
  • High Jump: In the high jump, she cleared 1.65m, earning seventh place in the event and tying her personal record. The jump also tied for second all-time in ERAU history.
  • Shot Putt: Gould recorded a personal-best throw of 10.75m, adding 579 points to her total and placing her 12th in the pentathlon at just over the half way mark.
  • Long jump: She soared to a season-best 5.55m, coming in at fifth on ERAU's all-time list for the event.
  • 800m: In the final event of the pentathlon, Gould ran a career-best 2:18.28 in the 800 meters, finishing second overall in that event and propelling herself from 10th place to seventh.
