| By: Amelie Fryer

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle standout Mikaela Miles capped off an amazing indoor season with a third-place finish in the triple jump at the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships. Competing in her third consecutive NCAA Indoor Championship, Miles once again rose to the occasion, earning her second career All-American honor and setting a new ERAU all-time record in the process. Miles entered the meet ranked sixth in NCAA Division II, having qualified with a then-school record jump of 12.55m earlier this season. On championship day, she elevated her performance to new heights.

RESULTS

  • Miles opened strong with a 12.23m mark, immediately putting herself in second place early in the competition.
  • She soared to a personal-best 12.67m, breaking her own ERAU record and holding onto second place before Anuna Childress edged ahead with a 12.78m effort.
  • Miles remained consistent, recording jumps of 12.37m and 12.51m, but couldn't quite beat her second-round distance.
  • Digging deep, Miles launched a career-best 12.70m on her final attempt, once again resetting the ERAU all-time record—her fifth time doing so this indoor season. That leap secured her podium finish and solidified her place among the best in Division II.
