Men's Lacrosse

Offensive Player of the Week - William Angus, Montevallo (So., Attack, Nanaimo, BC)

  • Angus totaled 6 points on the week with three goals and three assists while picking up 4 ground balls and adding 3 caused turnovers as the Falcons went 2-0
  • In a win over Malone, Angus tallied 4 points on 1 goal and 3 assists while picking up 3 ground balls and forced 2 turnovers. In a win over Walsh, Angus scored 2 goals while adding a ground ball and a caused turnover
  • Currently sixth in the PBC in assists per game

Defensive Player of the Week - Nolan Ross, Montevallo (Sr., D, Nanaimo, BC)

  • Posted 6 caused turnovers, 6 ground balls and 1 points in Montevallo's 2-0 week where they held opponents to 13 goals combined
  • In a win over Malone, tallied 3 caused turnovers and 4 ground balls while adding his second assist of the season...in a win over Walsh, forced 3 turnovers and picked up 2 ground balls
  • Currently ranked second in the PBC in caused turnovers per game...UM is currently second in the PBC in team goals allowed average and leads the league in scoring margin

Softball

Player - Divina Checo, Georgia College & State University (Sr., 2b, Marietta, Ga.)

  • Hit .462 over five games last week including .500 in three games at Augusta with two home runs, two triples, a double and four RBIs...had a 1.308 slugging percentage on the week
  • Became the first player since 2023 with two triples in a game and tied a PBC record as she went 2-for-3 with two triples in the opener in Augusta...doubled and homered in game two and homered again in game three
  • Leads her team with six home runs on the season and is second in slugging percentage

Pitcher - Jordan Sheets, Flagler (Jr., New Port Richey, Fla.)

  • Went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA on the week, allowing seven total hits in 11.0 innings of work with no walks and three strikeouts
  • Pitched a complete-game shutout at Columbus State, scattering six hits...retired 10 of the last 12 batters in the game...pitched four innings of relief in the third game with one hit allowed a two strikeouts...held batters to a .175 average for the week
  • Currently third in the PBC in ERA and tied for eighth in wins...also second in fewest walks allowed and fewest earned runs allowed

Freshman - Cooper Watson, Georgia Southwestern (Fr., DP/3b, Auburn, Ala.)

  • Delivered two game-winning home runs against USC Beaufort...hit .353 over seven games with seven RBIs
  • Provided the winning runs with a two-run homer in the opener against the Sand Sharks as GSW won 3-0...hit a three-run home run in the third game to give GSW a 4-2 lead in a game they would win 6-2
  • Currently ninth in the PBC in slugging percentage and seventh in OPS

Baseball

Player - David Hernandez, Georgia Southwestern (Grad., C, Hialeah, Fla.)

  • Hit .769 in a three-game sweep of Flagler with two doubles and eight RBIs
  • Collected multiple hits in all three games, going 4-for-5 in the opener with a double and four RBIs...went 3-for-4 in the third game with four more runs driven in...scored three runs...caught two base stealers
  • Currently third in the PBC in batting average, sixth in hits and eighth in RBIs

Pitcher - James Fordham, Georgia Southwestern (So., Chester, Ga.)

  • Threw a nine-inning, complete-game shutout of Flagler in the second game of their series...held the Saints to six hits with no walks and five strikeouts
  • Did not allow a runner past first base until the eighth inning...faced the minimum through four innings
  • Currently second in the PBC in opponent batting average and fifth in ERA

Freshman - Jake Prince, North Georgia (Fr., Inf., Cumming, Ga.)

  • Collected hits in all four wins for #30 UNG last week with four doubles and five RBIs
  • Went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI in a win at #5 Catawba...hit .400 in a three-game conference sweep at Augusta...went 2-for-6 in the opener with two doubles and two RBIs...went 3-for-5 in the second game with two more RBIs
  • Scored five runs in the second game at Augusta, tying the school record for runs scored...currently tied for seventh in the PBC in doubles

Women's Tennis

Player of the Week - Angelina Linnikova, North Georgia (Sr., Irkutsk, Russia)

  • Remained unbeaten in singles play with another win over a top-five opponent as she defeated Flagler's Dana Heimen 6-2, 6-0....also defeated Tusculum's Ylva Frafjord 6-2, 6-1
  • Ranked #5 in the nation, she is the only undefeated player in the ITA women's singles top 10 with three wins over players ranked #1 or #2...is 21-2 in singles overall dating back to last fall
  • Is 14-0 in dual match singles this spring including 2-0 in conference...is 11-4 in doubles with two wins against conference teams

Men's Tennis

Player of the Week - Aly El Rafie, Flagler (So., Cairo, Egypt)

  • Went undefeated in singles and doubles as Flagler defeated #22 North Georgia and #25 Lander
  • Had the decisive point in Flagler's 4-3 win over Lander, defeating Brendan Jayaprakash 7-6 (8-6), 6-3...defeated UNG's Eliseo Alcalde 6-2, 6-2...won his doubles matches with Baptiste Mercier 6-3 and 6-1
  • Improved to 8-3 in dual match singles this spring including a 2-0 mark against conference opponents...is 6-2 in doubles play

Women's Golf

Golfer of the Week - Kajsa Lindqvist, Lander (Jr., Gothenburg, Sweden)

  • Finished in a tie for second place at the Lady Bearcat Invitational, shooting rounds of 73-75-68 to finish at even-par 216
  • Had 10 total birdies in the tournament including five in her final round, which was the low score of the round and tied for lowest in the tournament
  • Claimed her fourth top-five and fifth top-10 finish of the season...currently ranked fourth in the PBC in stroke average...helped Lander to a second-place team finish in the 16-team field

Men's Golf

Golfer of the Week - Joao Costa, Georgia Southwestern (So., Carvavelos, Portugal)

  • Finished in a tie for first at the Arkansas Collegiate and fell in a playoff after shooting rounds of 75-72-74...led the field in par-5 scoring at four-under-par
  • Helped the Hurricanes to a 22-stroke victory in the 13-team event...his second round score of even was tied for the low round of the day
  • It is his second top-five finish of the season...ranked #49 by Scoreboard...currently eighth in the PBC in stroke average

Women's Track & Field

Track - Taylor Stone, Flagler (Sr., Largo, Fla.)

  • Set NCAA provisional times in the 800 and 1500 at the Raleigh Relays
  • Ran the 800 in 2:09.36 which is the 11th-fastest in NCAA Division II this season and best in the PBC...finished 39th of 165 runners in the event, most from Division I
  • Ran the 1500 in 4:21.45, the fifth-fastest in Division II and nearly nine seconds under the NCAA provisional time...finished 39th of 223 runners

Field - Maxime Kirschner, Embry-Riddle (Sr., Munich, Germany)

  • Won the javelin at the Terry Long Florida State Relays with a throw of 46.45 on her fourth attempt
  • That mark is .01 meters off the PBC record that was set in 2014
  • The longest javelin in the PBC this season, it was over four meters longer than the NCAA provisional distance and the 12th-longest in Division II so far this season

Men's Track & Field

Track - Avery Jaynes, Augusta (Sr., Brooklet, Ga.)

  • Set the Peach Belt all-time record in the 10k with a time of 28:59.21 at the Raleigh Relays...record was held by Olympian Pardon Ndlovu of UNC Pembroke who set the mark in 2013
  • That time is the third-fastest 10k run in NCAA Division II this season and beat the provisional mark by more than a minute
  • Won his section of the 10k and finished 46th overall in a field of 111 runners, many of whom were from power four conferences in Division I

Field - Mitchell Jean Baptiste, Augusta (Jr.)

  • Finished in 23rd place in the high jump at the Raleigh Relays
  • Hit 1.95m on his first attempt at that height in a field of 38 jumpers, most from Division I
  • Set an NCAA provisional height earlier this year at 2.05m, which is best in the PBC
